So now the left is going after the civil war statues. The same statues that had no ill effect during the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, or any other time in our history. Now, all of a sudden, they are 'bothersome' and 'loathsome' to some small, vocal minority.
A recent poll conducted across race, gender, and age boundaries showed that, overall, the majority of Americans do NOT wish to see these monuments moved, destroyed, desecrated or vandalized. The problem is that this majority is not being shown on the major news outlets and not causing major problems that everybody and their brother is condemning.
What I don't understand is why this minority of activists wants to re-write history...To sanitize history...To Change history. When we fail to learn from our history, we will, as a society/civilization repeat the failures and mistakes. These civil war heroes all played an important role in the making of our great country. If any of our past were to have been different, we would be different today.
At least, that's how I see it, From The Eyes of the Hawk.
